
Yes, “semen retention” is exactly what it sounds like. An extended period of time with no ejaculation (no masturbation, no physical intimacy).
What could this possibly have to do with anything? Turns out, more than I expected…
I know how laughable this sounds. Trust me.
It’s a practice surrounded by bold, almost ethereal claims.
And over the past 5–10 years, buried in obscure forums, whispered about on podcasts, rooted in centuries-old spiritual traditions – one weird but persuasive idea keeps resurfacing…
… that “semen retention”, or in other words – abstaining from ejaculation – can dramatically increase ones ability to attract women, accelerate success, and create unexplainable “aura”.
But this is just the tip of the iceberg.
The true “shift” isn’t surface-level, or only about sex, dating, or female attraction.
It fundamentally changes you from within.
I touched on this practice briefly in the Dark Aura Blackbook as an amazing, powerful catalyst for personal transformation.
But sometimes, an idea isn’t “compelling”, or easily brushed off without a proper understanding on the topic.
In fact, I did the same.
Initially, the idea of “semen retention” didn’t really catch my attention for a variety of reasons.
As the years went by, I noticed myself feeling like I hadn’t reached my full potential, or wasn’t capable of achieving the things I really wanted.
I felt “stuck” in life… unable to pick a direction, progress, and stay motivated long enough to succeed.
Whether it was building a great physique, sticking to my business & education goals, or other tasks at hand.
I would make a little progress, and then some how, some way end up self-sabotaging myself.
I always thought the solutions would be in some expensive self help book, course, or coaching…
In reality, LUST had become one of the biggest blocks to my success.
Every time things got a bit too difficult… PMO (porn, masturbation, orgasm)
If I was stressed… PMO
If I was bored, unmotivated, or in a shitty mood… PMO
You might assume that because I write about self-help, attraction, pheromones – that I would have long mastered this side of myself.
That I’m somehow above it…
I’m not.
To put it bluntly, lust, until the past 2-3 years, lust had been a constant undercurrent in my life for as long as I can remember.
I was exposed to porn young, ever since dial up internet and LimeWire existed.
Since adolescence, I don’t think I went more than a couple of weeks without some form of release…
And if I tried, there was always this low-grade agitation beneath the surface.
A restless energy. An itch that demanded to be scratched.
It became “normal”.
Automatic.
And that’s what started to bother me.
Because if something controls you quietly, consistently, predictably… is it really a choice?
That question is what led me to the first 90-day experiment, and subsequently, one of my longest streaks ever of 180 days.

To clarify, I’ve been “aware” of the practice of semen retention for maybe 10-15 years at this point.
I first discovered it in the Reddit trenches, where it went by various names – NoFap, NoPMO, even meme-driven movements like “No Nut November.”
But I’m not sure I fully understood the implications back then, or even until recently.
I was too young – or too undisciplined – to recognize what constant lust, porn, masturbation, and casual sex were doing to my focus, drive, confidence, motivation, and sense of control.
In this article, I’m going to separate fact from fiction, and detail exactly what happened when I committed to 90 days of semen retention myself.
And after living it firsthand, I firmly believe this is one of the most potent practices a man can use to elevate every area of his life…
… from physical health, wealth, attraction, emotional stability, and mental clarity.
But to truly reap the benefits of this practice, it’s important that you – the reader – are clear on what this actually means.
- Elimination of porn, masturbation, & orgasm
- No “edging” (watching porn / masturbating but not “releasing”)
- No sex (ideal), OR sex without release only.
Earlier on in my journey, I attempted to cheat the system by watching adult content and touching myself, or still engaging with women, but not releasing…
In my head, I justified it as “circulating” or “cultivating” the sexual energy, even though deep down I knew this was the first step before completely failing.
I’d constantly lose my “streak”, feel bad about it, spiral, and then attempt it again weeks or months later.
My advice is to completely avoid adult content, and if possible, try to avoid sex for atleast the first 90 days. If avoiding real sex is not possible, minimize your encounters, control your ejaculation, and RETAIN your semen.

Most men fail repeatedly (including me) before “breaking through”, because its harder than giving up drugs, its free, and its available at the click of a button.

I highly recommend attempting 90 days of abstinence – this is a very good baseline for the vast majority of men to learn self control over lustful desire.
That doesn’t mean at the end of 90 days, you can start jacking off uncontrollably.
The point is you won’t feel the need to entertain this in the first place, once you experience the benefits for yourself.
You’ll still have urges, but instead of “releasing”, you’ll realize how much more control you have over these primal needs…
This is the state you must acquire to reach new heights of success in your life.

Paradoxically, once you reach this “state” of not reacting to lust & desire, you automatically become significantly more attractive to women. Your ability to hyper-focus on an outcome increases massively too, as you gain the ability to transmute that energy into other parts of your life.

Let’s dive in to the semen retention benefits timeline…
Days 0-21: Initial withdrawal & friction
This initial period of semen retention is probably the easiest part of the journey. Some men are in so deep into their habits though, even this may be a struggle.
Its very important you persevere at this early stage.
While there are some noticeable benefits once you reach 7-14 days, it is just the beginning of transformative upgrades happening under the surface (whether you realize it or not).
Some of the early benefits up to 2 weeks you may notice:

Whenever I’ve had a breakthrough in my life, it was always during periods where things were getting difficult – and something had to change.
It was the same when I first discovered pheromones.

People are regularly posting accounts of the benefits and motivating eachother. Although I find it slightly fanatical and idealistic, I still think its worth it to distract yourself and keep yourself motivated.
Normally, waves of horniness will fly by quickly, even if they are intense.
The next step is to transmute that energy into creative ideas and productivity in business, more motivation in the gym, excelling at your crafts and hobbies, sports/fitness performance, ability to learn, and much more…
The first time I saw this idea framed properly was in Napoleon Hill’s Think and Grow Rich.
He basically says sexual energy is one of the most powerful fuels a man has – and the men who learn to convert it into purpose, drive, and ambition tend to separate themselves from the ones who constantly drain it off.
After living through semen retention, I can tell you he wasn’t exaggerating.
For every man, lust is insatiable urge that can waste your time, money, and energy.
This is the force that slowly consumes otherwise strong men, keeping them distracted, depleted, and forever short of who they were meant to become.

That consistency makes you look healthier and feel harder to throw off.
- Pheromones and sweat smells more attractive… women have repeatedly told me I smell “sweet” on long streaks. I have also noticed this myself and am aware of my natural body odor. You stop buffering your days with distraction, and that removes the foggy “I’m wasting my life” feeling. The relief is simple: you’re here, you’re awake, and you’re moving.
- Stronger intuition & moral clarity… you get sharper about what’s beneath you – people, habits, environments, even conversations. You stop tolerating low-grade corruption and negative things in your daily life because you can actually feel what it does to you now.
- Purpose locks in (or appears)… when you stop numbing and distracting yourself, you can’t “float” anymore. If you don’t have a purpose, you’ll feel the pressure to find one. If you already do, your execution accelerates – less drifting, less internal resistance, more progress week after week.
- Luck tilts in your favor… the timing starts getting surgical. Misses turn into hits. The right person answers. The right door cracks open. Small “coincidences” stack so consistently it stops feeling random. Maybe its part perception, part momentum, part something harder to explain. But it’s real enough that you notice the pattern.
- Manifestation accelerates… what you hold in your mind’s eye stops feeling like a daydream and starts feeling real – vivid, charged, inevitable; you picture the outcome clearly, you keep it there, and reality starts echoing it back through synchronicities, chance encounters, sudden openings, and “how the hell did that happen?” timing…
In short, semen retention is a potent practice to shift & upgrade your entire identity…

And once you understand that, the whole thing stops being about semen retention “benefits” or aura.
It becomes about higher standards.
Not the standards you talk about publicly… the private ones.

It removes the sedative and forces the real question: what happens when you stop taking the exit every time life gets uncomfortable?
And what you’re left with is raw material – the same energy that used to disappear into cheap pleasure, now sitting in your system looking for a direction.
That’s why most men fail. They treat this like a meme challenge, then act surprised when the pressure rises and their mind starts begging for an escape hatch.
The better framing is simple: you’re not “giving something up.” You’re reclaiming power.
So aim it.
Pick one objective you’ve been avoiding and make it your anchor for the next 90 days.

Give that pressure a direction.
Otherwise it will do what it’s always done: search for the easiest exit.

At the end of 90 days, you won’t be perfect. That’s not the goal.
The goal is authority – the kind that shows up everywhere: in your work, in your presence, in your relationships, in the way people respond to you before you’ve even said a word.
And once you’ve felt that version of yourself – the one operating with momentum and self-respect – it becomes hard to romanticize the old habits.
Why? Because you finally recognize the trade-off.
A few minutes of relief… in exchange for the man you could’ve been.
